INFORMATION FOR USE
1. Isolation Gowns are protective apparel used to protect the clothing of health care professionals, visitors and patients from the transfer of microorganisms and body fluids in patient isolation situations.

2. Protective Performances are categorized by 4 distinct levels of protection (or barrier performance).
Non-rated gowns are best used for basic medical care or as a cover gown protection for visitors. AAMI refers to the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation. AAMI is an international standards organization that develops and publishes technical standards for the medical device industry

AAMI PB70:2012 details specific test methods and passing criteria in order to label an isolation gown as AAMI 1, 2, 3, or 4 rated. A summary of the required testing is in the table below.

AAMI Levels and Testing Methods
AAMI Level Test Method Criteria
1 AATCC-42: Water Resistance: Impact Penetration ≤ 4.5g
2 AATCC-42: Water Resistance: Impact Penetration ≤ 1.0g
AATCC-127: Water Resistance: Hydrostatic Pressure ≥ 20cm
3 AATCC-42: Water Resistance: Impact Penetration ≤ 1.0g
AATCC-127: Water Resistance: Hydrostatic Pressure ≥ 50cm
4 ASTM F1671: Viral Penetration Pass

3. These Isolation gowns are single-use. These gowns should be disposed of and replaced if any type of fluid has soiled it, an object has penetrated the material, or if there is any type of abrasion on the gown.

4. Please pick the correct gown size to ensure there is no excess material dragging on the ground ( tripping hazard). The gown should be comfortable and not overly restrict your movements.

5. Critical zone are areas of the gown that are expected to come into contact with fluid. For this Isolation gown, the entirety of the gown minus the cuff, hem, and bindings is deemed a critical zone.

6. Shelf life of our gowns is 5 years. Lot no and Date of Expiry are mentioned on each package.

7. Donning: pull the individual gown from the bag and inspect for any rips or holes. Discard if there is a hole and tear. Take hold of the gown from the folded edge and allow the remainder of the gown to unfold. With both hands holding either side of the neck opening, snap the gown down to release the rest of the gown. Place arms into the sleeves and cuff/thumb loop ( as applicable). Pull the gown overhead. Pull the side ties to the back of the gown and tie at the rear of the waist ( or as applicable to the specific product)

8. Doffing: Leave your gloves on while doffing. Cross your arms and grasp on shoulders and pull gown away from the body to break the neck closure. Grasp the waist and pull away from the body to break the waist closure. Roll the gown down the bod inside into a ball with your medical gloves to ensure fluids and contaminants are contained. Discard the gown in an appropriate receptacle or as defined by your regulations.
